Golden Moments

We are thankful for golden moments large and small. My sister had informed us that it is not uncommon for a lymphoma patient to feel better after chemo starts than they did prior to treatment simply because the mass in their bodies is shrinking and no longer impedes their ability to function as normal. We had evidence of that today. Charl said that this morning was the first day he was able to sing hymns in church; the first time he had enough breath to sing aloud for a whole song. A wonderful moment indeed!

And of course everyone knows that Canada won Gold in hockey (YAY!). An utterly thrilling game with excitement so thick in the air you could taste it (even in Calgary!!), and the knowlege that the whole country - every person in every home, office, and restaurant with a TV, every town, every city in this country - was emblazoned with passion to see our Canadian team win gold. Charl and I were invited over to Dan and Allyson's place to watch this historical moment with their family. A terrific way to see the game; not only with wonderful friends but also on a 56" flat screen HDTV perfectly situated in front of their super comfortable new sectional (in front of which were the wings, nachos, chip/dip and drinks).
It bears noting that the viewing on Dan's TV is so superior to that of Charl's, ahem, old TV, that Dan asked if Charl had been able to actually see the goals during previous games. (Charl is currently looking through the Direct Buy catalogue for 60" flat screens ha ha)

From our golden moments to yours..
love, C&C
