After 2 full days off the Prednizone with no effect, today Charl said he's hit the wall. He's fine, just very, very tired, kind of like the days in the hospital before they put him on the steroid. But still (you guessed it) in good spirits.
We had a busy day yesterday with my Dad, Barb and Mike visiting, then a beautiful walk in the sunshine to the city lookout point near our place in Hawkwood. Gorgeous and uplifting for both of us to get out of the house, although for me the 30 min walk felt a bit like an olypmic event, not having done anything except blow my nose and cough for the last 10 days. Then we went for dinner at my younger brother's house in the North East, where over dinner we all watched the excellent Canada-Switzerland hockey game. Perhaps too much excitement for Charl who, by the time we got home last night, was spent. Worthwhile in a way: good to get out and be social, but hard when you run out of energy so quickly.
A note of thanks to our family for making the trek out to visit us; to friends for leaving us the incredible package of homemade food on our porch last night; and for the other wonderful package of rusks and droe wors sausage. Thank you to everyone for your calls, cards, gifts, food, and prayers. It helps alot and we very much appreciate it. We are being very well taken care of!
