God’s Hand in Chronological order…

…single and on June 17, 2009 I resign from the Partnership, but with persuasion from my fellow partners they convince me to stay as Partner. (If that did not happen, I would have been without benefits today… Thanks BKDI Partners!)

July 17, 2009. I met my wife, to be, at a dinner theatre in Canmore… brought together from different parts of the world.

August 28, 2009, got engaged in beautiful Vernon, BC, Canada.

November 07, 2009, got married in Kelowna, BC, Canada.

November 09, 2009, we left for our Honeymoon to Mexico.

November, 17, 2009, I came back with a nagging cough and left for Cape Town, South Africa on December 13, 2009. We came back and left for Vernon to be with the family, but I was constantly tired and fatigued… and the cough did not go away.

January, 18, 2010, I was exhausted after another coughing spasm and just could not take it anymore… We decided that I will go to a walk-in-clinic the next morning in down town, Calgary. January, 19, 2010, I walked to the walk-in-clinic, but instead of a walk-in-clinic, it was an emergency unit on 4th street and 12th Avenue. (We believe it was miraculous that I went to this unit). The Emergency room doctor, Dr. McLeman, could not find anything wrong with me. At the end of the day an x-ray was taken and it showed something on my lung. A CAT scan was immediately performed and I was informed that Dr. G. Gelfand was notified at the Foothills Hospital about the thing on my lung and if I do not receive a call from him by Friday, I should call him.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 09:00 we received a phone call from Dr. Gelfand indicating that this is serious and he wants me in the hospital admitted the same day. We checked in at 16:00 that same afternoon and the nurses immediately started to prepare me for tests. Dr. Gelfand came around that afternoon explaining what was happening and showed us the CAT scan where there is a mass of approximately 15cm x 15cm x 8cm between my lungs. Massive!! He again stresses the point of the seriousness of this big mass and that he will keep me in hospital until they know exactly what it is and what needs to be done. (Thank you for Dr. Gelfand’s persistence to keep me in the hospital)

January, 21, 2010, started with multiple tests and preparations for various biopsies including the possibility to cut open my chest to remove the mass. Two weeks followed in hospital with tests and waiting.

January, 26, 2010, we received the initial diagnosis from Dr. Gelfand that it is Lymphoma Cancer.

February, 03, 2010, I was released from the Foothills Hospital to start with my Chemo Treatment.

February 10, 2010, it was finally confirmed by Dr. Lynn Savoie, Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Calgary, that I have Lymphoma Cancer, Stage 1 and that my bone marrow is clean. This is a miracle in itself as this is a very rare situation where a cancer is this big and did not spread to other parts of the body.

February, 11, 2010, I started with a 22 week program of Chemo and radiation…

God is amazing in how He has provided me with a wife, new family and friends to support me through this journey. He knew what was going to happen to me and he prepared the way for me and the people around me. God’s will be done, and we must follow him everyday in His footsteps as He is the Provider in all things, for now and for ever. We are looking forward to seeing how his will will be done.

The Purpose of Life is to Glorify God alone…
